If you’ve been efoiling for awhile you may want to check out the Fliteboard Ultra l, the Fliteboard Pro or some of the other boards in their quiver.

Board Specs

Fliteboard fiberglass colors

Depending on what efoil you choose, it will cost more for certain colors.

The board is available in three different styles fiberglass, carbon classic, and carbon. Riders can choose between fiberglass, carbon fiber pro, and carbon fiber classic.

Fiberglass boards are slightly heavier than the carbon options but they still have the performance and durability that are synonymous with the Fliteboard brand.

Carbon Pro and carbon classic are made from premium PVC sandwich of carbon fiber and innegra. It gives riders a great weight to strength ratio.

Colors:

  • Fiberglass: White, Saltbush and Coral (no upcharge)
  • Carbon Classic: White, Black, Ash, Green (+$500)
  • Carbon: Silver, Black, Bronze, Ash(+$1,000)

Our take: If you really care about the color that much and have extra money go for it. But if we were penny pinching we’d rather save money for extra battery and a faster charger.

Fliteboard’s Front Wings

Next, we got foil wings. They have a huge impact on how your efoil and foil preform on the water.

In a nutshell: smaller wings allow for more speed and sharp turns while larger wings offer a cruisey ride with longer drawn out turns. If you’re a beginner, you should opt for a larger front wing.

Wanna go more indepth on wings –> go here.

The flyer wing series is more for intermediate and expert riders. Meanwhile, the cruiser wings are best suited for beginners experimenting with the jet propeller and looking for stability. The cruiser jet wings are a surfers best friend, great glide and stable on waves.

Also – fair warning on prices quoted here. Shipping and handling could cost a lot depending on where you live on planet earth. Pay attention!

The Fliteboard Series 3 has one of the largest wing lineups in the efoil space. Lift and Fliteboard have some of the best wing series out of the entire fleet of efoils in 2023.

To see these wings in action, we found a great video testing them out with phenomenal commentary in real time. Check it out here.

Flyer 800 Wing

Flyer 800 wings are light but ultra hard to learn if you're new to efoiling

First up the Flyer 800, this is the wing you want for carving and hitting blazing speeds. If you’re looking for bigger waves to ride, this may be the wing for you. Not recommended for beginners,

Price: $530

Best for: Intermediate and advanced riders

Cruiser 1100 Wing

Crusier 1100 Wing is best for the fliteboard

Second, Fliteboard’s most popular and versatile wing. It’s also strongly recommended for the Series 3.

This is a stable wing to have in your front wing arsenal. It takes off surprisingly early, has impressive speed, and efficient when it comes to battery life. It may be slower than the smaller wings but it offers extra glide on swells without using the trigger for more juice.

Price: $530

Best for: Intermediate and Advanced riders

Cruiser 1800 Wing

Ultra light but best for beginners

This is Fliteboard’s strongest and most stable wings, perfect for beginners.

It’s best for heavier riders who want a calm ride. It’s an early takeoff but is slow to medium when it comes. to it’s top speed. Since it’s a larger wing, it’s difficult to carve but it will give your board some extra glide when surfing waves. Just don’t expect to carve because it doesn’t offer the best turning radius.

Price: $720

Best for: Beginners

Cruiser 1500 Jet Wing

Ultra light and great for surfing

Lastly, this is the default wing when using the flite jet. It’s built to last long distance adventures or teaching others how to efoil. The jet propulsion system is great for riding waves and that extra boost of battery light.

It’s built to surf and glide across playful waves. If you’re a surfer, you’ll find out right away why the cruiser jet wings are a top seller.

Price: $690

Best for: Beginners using the flite jet. Surfers beware you may get addicted.

Flite jet vs Propeller

In case you haven’t noticed, the Fliteboard Series 3 had versatility in mind when they designed. The interchangeable propulsion system allows riders to seamlessly switch between the propeller and the flite jet within seconds.

The stock series 3 propulsion system comes with a propeller and guard for no extra cost. It’s slightly heavier and more efficient. We recommend adults and seasoned foilers to use the propeller because of the risk of the propeller hitting themselves or someone else.

The Flite jet is an extra $500 but gives you peace of mind with the little ones. The flite jet’s fully enclosed propulsion system may allow some efoilers to be able to user their efoils in places where open propellers are prohibited.

The flitejet is best for beginners, surfers and adult learners.

How’s The Series 3 Battery Life?

The Flitecell nano battery is pretty good. The lithium ion efoil battery for the Fliteboard is right up there with top efoil makers in terms of ride time.

The sport battery has a ride time of 90 minutes. The sport battery is lighter but is missing an hour of ride time. With the upgraded explore package this can be upgraded to 150 minutes of ride time.

Is the upgrade worth it?

Pro: An hour of more ride time

Con: $1,000 upgrade

So yeah, if you got the money to spend we think it’s worth the extra ride time.

Epic Foils: Our take on Fliteboard’s New eFoil

The Fliteboard Series 3 is expensive but worth the price. Flitboard founder & CEO David Trewern knew exactly what he had in mind when he wanted to launch the series 3.

We personally believe that it’s best when upgraded with all the latest bells and whistles. It’s the ultimate ride for eFoilers who love wave riding or just cruising around their local break.

It’s a responsive ride and hits higher speeds than other entry level electric hydrofoils. If you’re looking for your first efoil, this is great board to learn on and enjoy as you improve at efoiling. Our only knock on it is the price, but price is what you pay for when it comes to quality and the Fliteboard Series 3 is second to none.
