Just when you thought the eFoil market couldn’t get any crazier, the mad lads at Fliteboard created the first efoil scooter called the Flitescooter.
The Flitescooter is the next big thing in efoil technology. The scooters are still in pre-order but the first looks are encouraging. The Flitescooter is designed to be training wheels for kids and new riders.
We first wrote about this new fliteboard series in our top 5 efoils of 2023 series, found here.
Fliteboard founder David Trewern is elated about this new Fliteboard series. Now everyone can enjoy the thrill and excitement of eFoiling with the added safety of handle bars. Plus, since the Flitescooter is an inflatable board riders can can’t the power and drift around with friends without tipping over.
This new fliteboard is expected to be released some time in August or September of 2023. Fliteboard is founded and headquartered in Byron Bay, Australia.
How much does a Flitescooter cost?
The stock model of the Flitescooter costs $12,995. It’s currently on pre-order, you can reserve yours here for $1,000. The price is pretty standard for efoils made by Fliteboard.
The Flitescooter comes with a 2 year warranty and offers financing through Zip Money Now.
How to Use the Flitescooter in 3 Quick steps
The flitescooter is incredibly easy to ride whether you’re a seasoned waterman or completely new to water sports. The Fliteboard team made it easy as possible to learn by adding detachable handle bars and using an inflatable board.
The Flitescooter is a user friendly foil to learn how to ride and perfect first efoil to ride.
Step One: To start the Flitescooter, press the thumb throttle all the way then release it. Next, press the minus button on the Flite Controller. Hold the thumb throttle within the five second countdown window to activate the propeller.
Step Two: Press the throttle down and the Flitescooter will begin to start flying. Once the board begins to get moving, push on the handle bars to move your weight forward to keep the board planing.
Step Three: Once you’re at planing speed, smoothly and slowly pull the handle bars back. Then slightly push forward again and level out.

Flitescooter Specs
The Flitescooter is an inflatable board with removable handle bars. The inflatable board allows riders to fly with stability and portability to take it on the go. Think of it as training wheels for eFoils!
Riding the Flitescooter should be fun and easy control without sacrificing performance. To steer the Flitescooter, simply shift and lean your weight and ride.
It’s one of the most fun designs of eFoils on their fliteboard series.
Controller: The wireless Bluetooth control is placed into the handle bars and controlling the speed is done so on the handle bars. The trigger on the handle bars makes it pretty ergonomic and easy to pull and release.
As mentioned, the handle bars can be removed and riders can use the wireless control remotely in their hand. The Flite app can also control Fly zones where you can and cannot foil helping novice riders avoid shallow, areas with bigger waves, and rocky areas.
The flitescooter is one of the largest efoils out there coming in at 7 feet. It’s basically a long board!
Board dimensions
Dimensions: 7’0″ x 35″
Weight limit: This efoil can handle riders up to 265 lbs and is roughly 237 liters when fully inflated.
Inflatable board: Since the board is inflatable, the Flitescooter is portable and able to
Colors: The Flitescooter will come in Oyster & Silver colors.
Board weight: 61.7lbs
Flite Battery Packages
Flitecell battery: The battery comes in two sizes Sport and Explore. The Sport package has a 90 minute ride time and the Explore package has a 150 minutes of ride time. The Explore battery package allows riders to cover more distance but may be a little slow due to the added weight.
The Sport Battery is lighter, weighing 10 lbs giving the Flitescooter a combined weight of 71lbs.
The Explore Battery is heavier, weighing 18lbs giving the Flitescooter a combined weight of 80lbs.
The standard battery charger is stock, at the time of shipping riders can get the option to upgrade to the fast charger. The fast charger can fully charge the flitecell in 2 hours, the standard charger takes 3 hours.
The Fliteboard team even has a calculator to help you chart your rides, you can use that here.
Flite jet propeller: The Flitescooter does not offer open propellers packages. The flite jet may be a little slower but it’s for the riders safety. The electric motor still offers a smooth and quick ride.
How fast is the flitescooter?
In scooter mode, the Flitescooter is limited to a top speed of 15mph. When you’re ready to up the speed a notch or two, you can change the settings in the Flite App.
According to the Fliteboard team, the Flitescooter can hit 30 mph. We would guess that would be without the handle bars and maybe the lighter battery package. This is pretty impressive speeds without an open propeller and using the flite jet instead.
Our guess is this efoil can cruise at 26-28mph with the handle bars and probably 30 mph without the handle bars.
Kid Friendly
Furthermore, the Flitescooter can be learned in minutes with minimal instruction. Making this the most kid friendly efoil on the market today, maybe even the world!
That being said, the Fliteboard team still strongly recommends getting a demo from one of their authorized location and we agree with them.
Riding an eFoil for the first time can be intimidating. It’s always nice to have a helping hand to show you the ropes, have fun, and how to ride waves.
Stop waiting and Start Scooting!
Well you have to wait a few months as the Flitescooter is projected to be released in August or September.
But, if you’re still mulling it over or have children who may want to get into efoils, we give the Flitescooter two thumbs up. The portability, safety, and engineering is unmatched.
This is easily one of the most exciting efoil board’s to hit the market 2023.
